The whole Big 10 has been down for several years. Other than Ohio State, there's nothing to write home about. And USC exposed Ohio State as much less athletic than the Pac-10's fourth-place team.

I guess we'll see about Iowa.
As far as Big-10 goes, I wonder if Wisconsin breaks into the top 25 this week only to be bounced out next week when they lose to Ohio St.

Funny you mention opting out of season tix. FN Phat and me worked with a guy who was a huge Penn State fan. He'd go to a game every year. Did he go to the best game? No. He always went to the biggest cupcake on the schedule because he can't bear to watch them lose. He'd rather see them kill a 1-AA team 50-0 than watch a game against OSU that they may lose.

This is a great story. It perfectly encapsulates the Penn State Fan. No clue about the pecking order in the country.

He was fanatical too. I'd kill to watch a game with him sometime because I bet he's on pins and needles the whole time.

Tell you what, Surfah. You ever make it up here during football season (while I'm still here), and the tickets are on me.

Not an impressive win, but last year we would have lost that game (and the UNLV game.)

Does 6-6 WYO go bowling? They should beat UNM in Laramie next week, and SDSU. That means they just need to pick up one against AFA, Utah, BYU, TCU or CSU.

i went to the USC/Cal game on Saturday.

A few thoughts... USC's defensive line is incredible. They controlled the game by completely taking away every single running lane. Best had to run around the ends the whole game, and USC's line backers were always there to stop him.

USC's band is awesome. The entire band travelled to the game, and it was terrific. Nothing beats a good college marching band with tradition, and watching Tommy Trojan lead the band and march and twirl his sword was pretty cool.

Cal's offensive play calling reminds me of watching the Utes last year... Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Oregon/USC will be an excellent game. USC will have a slight edge, but that game being at Autzen, which I have now experienced, will keep Oregon in the game...

Cal Fans don't get into games... Even on the first drive of the game, the stadium wasn't really rocking, and Cal looked like it was going to draw first blood against USC... that really suprised me.
