Is Peyton Mannin a top ten QB of All-Time?

I think he probably is. My top ten list probably includes (in no particular order):

Joe Montana
Dan Marino
Roger Staubach
Tom Brady
Terry Bradshaw
John Elway
Brett Favre
Peyton Manning
Steve Young
Johnny Unitas

I think guys like Sammy Baugh and Otto Graham are too old to include. I just don't know enough about them to have them in the discussion. I could potentially see a guy like Bradshaw or Young coming off in favor of one of those guys, but it is hard to argue with Bradshaws legay in Pittsburg and Youngs impressive passer rating. Plus he gets points from me as the home town favorite.

There is something about the guy I just can not stand but I would put Roetherlesberuger ahead of Manning. That guy can make all the throws Petyon can but is tough as nails.

I think Peytons consistency for so long, and mastery of the no huddle is what gets him there. But I agree I don't know what it is about big Ben but I don't care for him either.

Ben has relied immensely on his defense. Peyton's defenses have been nowhere near as good as the Steelers have been, yet he's won a Super Bowl and had great stats year in and year out.

Picking teams playground-style, I'd take Peyton over Ben every time.

Really? Peyton's teams seem to me like they need to be micro-coached on every play, hence all of Manning's pointing and yelling prior to each and every play of his NFL career.

I think Ben plays much more of a playgroundesque game.

I meant "playground" as in "you pick your team one guy at a time," not "who would play best in a playground game."

I used to hate Manning as well. I hated him more than any other NFL QB. But I have completely changed my opinion. He's probably my favorite NFL QB now. I attribute 50% to his physical abilities on the field, and 50% to his commercials, SNL skits, and live interviews. He's a funny guy, and a hell of a quarterback.

Sammy Baugh's numbers aren't like Manning's numbers, but Baugh is in a category by himself - he is the only player in NFL history to have lead the league in passing, interceptions and punting at one time or another. I think we could safely say that Manning is no Sammy Baugh.

How can you say all time and not include Baugh or Graham or Van Brocklyn(SP).

It is really hard to compare eras. I would take off Marino and add Baugh. Mainly because he never won a championship. Everyone else on you list has won at least one.

So has Trent Dilfer. I'm not a fan of using championships to rate quarterbacks. Football is probably the sport that relies the most on team for wins.
