Did anybody else watch this weekend?

It may not have been the greatest card on paper, but it sure delivered (in my view). The Couture/Nogeira fight was one of the best unanimous decisions I've seen (first round especially). I've never seen somebody almost submit his opponent so many times only to have him escape miraculously.

And the Marquart knockout - sheesh!

Who does Alvez get now? At 14-1, he's got to get a title shot, right?

Well, the problem with Alvez and a title shot is that the one loss he has was to the guy who is the current champ. One fight ago. And that fight wasn't close - he got KTFO. I think that's got to play into the matchmaking.

Jardine did come out swinging. It wasn't a bad fight, but Jardine's fighting style is awkward at best. Sort of like the bastard offspring of Muai Thai and Elaine's dancing from Seinfeld. So I wasn't sad to see him lose.

I do wish the Maia/Marquart fight would have gone a bit longer. It was going to be an interesting matchup of two completely different styles, but then Maia does that stupid hop-skip-lead-with-the-jaw approach (was he trying to set up a Superman punch?) and got hit by one of the hardest rights I've ever seen. On the replay, his entire body was off the ground. He's just lucky Nate didn't finish throwing the second punch.

Jake Rosholt putting Leben to sleep was sick.

Marquardts knockout was awesome.

Nogueira looked like the Nog of old and dominated Randy. I couldnt believe they didnt stop it when Randy was knocked down and ate about 20 hammer fists.

Great card, You guys are mistaking Thiago Silva for Thiago Alves. Alves just fought GSP and lost. Silva fought on Saturday. Silva is a long ways from another title shot.

Also that knockout out by Duffee was pretty sick as well.

Damn Brazilians! But I stand by what I said, name mistake not withstanding (and it looks like you agree).

I also can't believe they didn't stop the Couture fight when he got knocked down that time. Clearly a flash knockout, and I have to give Randy a lot of credit for guts. He should have been submitted at least once if not twice too, and somehow he got out.

Chris Leben annoys the hell out of me. The dude entertains though. And I appreciate his all or nothing, never tap attitude even if I think it's stupid.

Couture should hang it up. Nobody can say the guy isn't a warrior. He's relentless but I just don't see him being a factor in that division ever again. He can grind out matches still, but I just don't see him winning. There's no disrespect bowing out after lasting three rounds with Nog like he did.

I want to see Nog and Mira again.
