David Nixon was cut from the Raiders. This shocked me. He had an outstanding pre-season and was 2nd on the depth chart logging lots of plays and making them. I couldn't believe how well he played. They cut Napoleon Harris last week (from what I read though he wasn't playing well or in any condition to play). Kirk Morrison is sidelined for a couple weeks with an injury and then they cut their 2nd string LB? The Raiders suck.

Wow, that is a shock. I guarantee Nixon gets picked up by someone.

Neither Fui or Fred Brown made the Bengals practice squad.

            Practice squad additions:

Chris PRessley made it over Fui on the Bengals practice squad.

David Nixon made it for Oakland.
Travis Bright made it for Dallas.

Maybe Collie put a good word in for him. I believe they played together in 2004 right?

What kind of money does a practice squad player pull down?

According to his agent, Fui has been signed to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.

5,200 per every week of the season. They also get playoff shares.

                      17 weeks x5,200= 88,400.

Also if your team gets a first round playoff bye, you will get an additional 2 weeks, as well as a portion of your playoff share. When Satema Gali was on the Patriots he was given $25,000 for winning the superbowl, and was on the practice squad for a total of 22 weeks.

So that year Gali made pretty close to league minimum right?

Yeah but back then the practice squad salary was closer to about 4k per week.

If you count the value of his superbowl ring, he made about 150k.

Former Ute DT Kelly Talevou earned a spot on the Ravens 53-man roster.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
