I need to try and find some tickets for the games. I would like to see a couple hockey games.

      Canada's team looks pretty good.

There are going to be any issues with the forwards and the defense looks alright. I hope there is a solid goaltender by the time the olympics roll around. Broadeur is clutch but getting old. I'm thinking Cam ward might be a good option. Luongo is just too inconsistent. He is great at times though. I remember when he helped Canada win the Junior championships way back.

I guarantee that hockey tickets will be hard to come by.

You will probably be able to find some for games like Germany against Belarus, which is still worth going to in my opinion, but even they might be popular with the locals.

Now the jerseys for the US of A:

Kinda plain, but it has a classic look.

Looks like both the USA and Canada have gone for more classic looks.

            I like them.

The NIKE "We the people graphic" is much more prominent on the Canadian jersey than the American. I don't get what they are doing with it.

I like Canada's a lot more than I like the US ones. Maybe it's because the maple leaf gives a more "classic" look, while just the USA letters has a "plain" look. I'm also a little disappointed in the Rangers-esque alternate sweaters.

Look like smart choices to me.

My biggest concern for team Canada is goalie.

I don't know if Luongo is a winner, but he is a great goal tender and it is in the arena he is currently most familiar with.

                  Broadeur is getting older.

I probably would take Cam Ward over Fleury, but as long as the rest of the team comes together to play like a team, particularly on defense, they should do alright.

In the last Olympics it seems like the teams without many NHLers overachieved since they had all played together longer.

That obviously wasn't the case in 2002 with a Canada US final.

The biggest factor lately seems to be location and obviously Canada and the US benefit from this.

Brodeur is playing great hockey right now. I don't think Canada should be worried about his performance, although if I was a Devils fan, I'd be worried he runs out of steam for the postseason.

I disagree on Fleury, he's a no-brainer right now. And Ward has not only been banged up, but he wasn't playing well before his injury.

As for the States, I think we have a great chance to medal. I just hope our depth and blue line is good enough.

Play starts on Tuesday. The US opens against Switzerland, who have four current NHLers and one who hasn't played in North America for probably 8 or 9 years. It should be a comfortable victory. After that is Norway on Thursday, and they're also short on NHLers. Then they play Canada on the 21st, and a win would give them not only a bye to the quarterfinals, but in all likelihood the #1 or #2 seed.

                        It should be fun.

Here's a link to the schedule:

Nice start for the two favorites on the women's side: Canada wins 18-0 (shots were 67-9) and the US wins 12-1 (shots were 61-7). Short of a monumental upset (similar to Sweden upsetting the US in the Turin semifinals), the gold medal will belong to North America.
