I'm curious why Goldman's dad and sister got so much camera time. I can understand why they would be there because the guy who murdered Ron and Nichole is finally going to jail, but I don't know why the decision was made to show them at the sentencing, as the murder had nothing to do with this incident and rightfully so.

Yes it did. It had everythign to do with this sentencing. Have you ever watched on TV while anyone else was sentenced in Nevada before? How about when Rae Carruthers was sentenced? Did anybod watch that? This whole trial is about a Nevada system doing what a California system didn't.

I've never watched a sentencing until today.

What I mean to say is that the acquittal in CA should not have had anything to do with the sentencing today. I think the outcome of the murder trial was wrong and that the state of CA really blew it, but I don't see how it should have anything to do with the sentencing of an unrelated crime in another state.

Then again, I'm not a lawyer and my involvement with the legal process is trying to convince a judge in Millard County that my driving 100 mph really was more to do with trying to get to Orange County to get back to school because I thought it started two days later than it really did than wanting to show disregard of the posted speed limit.

That, and that fact that the public wants to see these poor people get some vindication and justice, even if it is indirectly. I want to see them get it. It doesn't bring their loved one back but it is authentic human drama; the good kind for once.

As crazy as it sounds, there is a small part of me that feels sympathy for Simpson. I can remember him being a sideline reporter for NBC football and then all of the sudden...the white bronco and O.J.'s life spun out of control.

The schmuck I feel sorry for si the other guy sentenced today. He never had a chance in the trial.

OJ seems ot be getting a bit of a raw deal, but it couldn't happent to a more despicable person, in the opinion of one who believes he did it (how else does Ronald Goldman's blood end up inside OJ's Bronco?)
