I couldn't agree more with Lazerus with the one Blackhawk player I would bring back for this rebuild. the dynasty started to die when the Demigod got hurt. Hossa remains underrated for what he did for the Blackhawks franchise.

If you could bring back one player from Blackhawks history to plug into this rebuild, who would it be and why? — Patrick W.

It’s easy to say Patrick Kane to be Bedard’s linemate for 15 years, or Jonathan Toews to teach the kid how to manage being the face and voice of a franchise, or Stan Mikita to show him how to handle fame and glory with grace. But I’m going to go with Marian Hossa. It’s hard to overstate the impact Hossa had on the Blackhawks when he came in for the 2009-10 season. And not just on the ice, though, sure, his brilliant two-way play lifted Chicago into the league’s upper echelon.

Talk to any Blackhawks player who shared a locker room with Hossa, and he’ll all but start genuflecting. It was Hossa who taught the young Blackhawks how to be professionals. His work ethic in the weight room, his tenacity on the ice, his commitment to defense, to his body, to his teammates. His kindness, even. He’d be the ideal role model for any young NHL player. That he’d probably score 40 goals as Bedard’s right wing would be just a bonus.
