Do you have Cain pitch Friday? In the playoffs you only need 3 starts, maybe 4, so is Zito the odd man out?
They throw Linecum out tomorrow in case there is a one-game playoff on Monday. Yeah, I think Zito is on the outside looking in.

Honestly in a 5 game set with how spread out it is, I throw Lince, Cain and Bum all on 3 days rest. That gives you Sanchez who would be a witch out of the pen and Zito as two solid lefties.

My problem with Sanchez is that he walks way to many hitters, and puts himself in bad spots.

For sure, that's his only problem, albeit a big one. Of pitchers with more than 100 IP, he has the lowest BAA, .204. I'm loving the rotation right now now, has any other team had as consistent a rotation this year? By that I mean no deviations from it, not performance consistency.

        • Another very nice win tonight. Magic number is now 3.

Does Brian Wilson realize just how awesome his beard looks?

Brian Wilson is a very strange dude, so I don't know what he thinks, but it's turning into a great marketing tool. People are starting to wear beards; hopefully it doesn't have the same effect panda hats did.

It seriously looks like he uses Just For Men every morning. Keith Hernandez would be proud.

              • Huge sweep over the D-bags. Need a loss out of SD tonight.

You mean making him gain 50 pounds in the off-season?

And with AZ's own weapon, the long ball!

Padres winning or losing tonight almost doesn't matter. To avoid a one game playoff, they need to win one game of their 3 game series, so hopefully they just close it out tomorrow.

And to think, had Ishikawa been called safe at home against the Mets, we would have clinched the playoffs already.

                      • How does Sandoval only get a single out of that ball off the right field wall? Would someone please get him the number for Jenny Craig?

                        • NL West.

There we go, baby! What a great insurance jack by the soon to be NL Rookie of the Year in the 8th.

A couple of good conference talks and the Giants to the postseason make for great Sunday!

(And I can now forget about the 49ers for a week. I hope)

                          • What a great season! Went to the game on Friday, hoping for the clincher, but of course they wait til the last game of the year.

We sat in front of the players wives, which was pretty interesting. Not a big fan of it actually, since all they talk about is their latest home remodel and then cheer when their man is up. Cody Ross' wife was particularly obnoxious. F Sanchez's wife was probably the hottest, with a rack that would make Goatnapper a Giants fan.

Just bought tickets to Friday night's game, can't wait.

                              • Just finished watching the game (dvr). Man, Bumgarner is super clutch for a 21-year-old pitcher. The Giants threw out a battery of a 21-year old pitcher and a 23-year-old rookie catcher - to pitch game four of the NLDS! Wow.

For a while there, I thought Lowe was going to no-no the Giants. But clutch hitting comes through again.

Saturday will be an epic matchup!
