    Mike Dunleavy calls Bill Simmons a joke writer.

    I disagree, I don't think that Bill Simmons has written a joke since 2004. Simmons should be thrilled not pissed off by his statement.

      I heard this when it happened. Cowherd was really caught off guard when Dunleavy fired back...but it was a stupid question to ask in the first place.

      Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

          I would agree with him if he said "Simmons is a joke OF a writer". Then the statement would be factually correct.

              Did Cowherd take any time to admit how wrong he was about spending an hour of Wednesday's show talking about how USA/Spain game would be over inside 10 minutes? Or did he just move on to talking about steroids and Michael Vick?

                  No, on today's episode Cowherd just talked about how he's not a fan of any team and doesn't have any allegiances that cloud his judgment. He then said his predictions are more accurate than the average fan's. Unfortunately, Cowherd never mentions how raw intelligence feeds into the equation.
                  Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                      he had 2 parody songs devoted to how he was wrong about the Spain/USA match.

                              Simmons has done some great writing, but his radio gigs were beyond awful.
