ESPN is saying assistant AD. That seems worse to me than a coach who is with the kid day in and day out and probably has a deep relationship with both the player and parent. That a player would think to ask an assistant AD for improper benefits is alarming. The fact that he recieved the funds is damning. Not sure how they avoid serious penalty on this. But this is the SEC so they'll probably be forced to forfeit games from 1991 and the tennis team will be shut down.
That would be a severe penalty for a SEC team.

The ESPN article has been updated to say that the assistant AD is in charge of Ole Miss Opportunity Fund. I guess that is a convenient way to get around the rules. At least that's what they'll tell the NCAA.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
Regarding the whole Kaepernick thing, I just found out he's been sitting during the national anthem for all 3 preseason games. Kind of funny that no one really noticed until now. I guess when you sit on the bench so much, people just expect you to be there all the time.

Jeff Fisher just keeps on conning an NFL franchise into letting him stay on the sidelines.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
Chip Kelly has had a pretty good debut tonight. The Niners will still get killed by the Panthers next week.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Would this thread be the appropriate place to bring up the "Color Rush" uniforms? I checked out the photos, and I'd say 75% are a fizzle for their incongruity with the theme. Seattle, Miami, Tennessee & LA look great; Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, Giants, Bears, all seemed to have reading comprehension issues.
