  • MLB 2016 thread

    2016 will look a lot like 2015:

    - Braves will be terrible
    - Tigers will look good on paper but be derailed by injuries
    - Cubs and Red Sox will be good: bandwagon fans will be happy
    - Funk will pretend he isn't an As fan and spend more time talking about hockey

I will be in AZ in 2 weeks, will go to 5 spring training games and one minor league game. Can't wait.

Shouldn't this be in the pro sports threads.

I almost wish the Braves would give Freddie a pardon and trade him. I feel bad for him that he is going to have to hit in the middle of that lineup with zero protection in either direction. I hope this Braves team is like the 1990 Braves and not the 1987 Braves. I have my doubts.

I'm still an A's fan. There was just nothing to talk about last year.

Yes, I'll spend more time talking hockey.

As a Red Sox fan, I hope 2016 does not look like 2015, or 2014 for that matter, and that the Red Sox will actually be good in 2016.
Since he's already irritated, I'll leave it to Northwestcoug to expound upon whether 2014 or 2015 was the better season in Boston.

With expectations lowered, the Nationals will topple the Mets for the NL East.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I'm mad because of the blatant hackery of SJS. There's already a thread for MLB 2016. And it's in the right place, I might add.

Summoning my Trump inner voice: NWC, you did start a MLB thread but it was terrible. My thread is the best, yours: not so much. It died on the vine in january. And believe me, when I'm elected we'll have the best threads about major league baseball.

You guys will absolutely love Denard Span for the 20 or so games he's healthy!

Yes, I feel we've already seen all the Braves discussion we'll see this year until it's the goodbyes to Atlanta and the Ted. I'll have to get down there for another game or two before the move, but, yes, it feels more like the late 80s at this point and I don't have the time anymore to dedicate to following for 4 years in hopes of a repeat of '91. If it leads to another long string of success, I'll eat crow and enjoy every tasty morsel.
I have nothing else to say at this time.
