Diego is definitely the favorite, but Guida is relentless. I will be rooting for Damarques and Pearson as well.

Clay Guida vs Diego Sanchez was a war. I can not believe Diego didnt knock Guida out in that first round. I thought Guida was done about 5 different times, especially after the head kick. Honestly I agree with Joe that based on the scorecards round by round Guida won rounds 2 and 3. But I would have probably given Diego 10-8 in round 1 as well.

Damarques Johnson was completely outclassed by Wilkes.

I agree on both accounts. I was hoping for a draw on Guida v Sanchez. A rematch would be great. Those elbows to the head were gruesome.

Wilkes seemed like he was toying with Johnson and was slapping submissions on him at will.

Fun evening overall, with only the pearson winner fight being somewhat boring.

Guida vs Sanchez was unreal. I've never seen anything like the first minute of that fight from sheer intensity perspective. And that head kick! I still cannot believe Guida didn't knocked out, his strong chin and heart be damned.

Damarques Johnson got absolutely embarrassed. Way to represent, SLC.

Sanchez vs. Guarda fight was incredible.

Guarda is certifiably nuts.....and I would never want to fight that guy.

I thought Diego deserved the decision. Even on his back Diego pressed much of the action and opened up those cuts on Guida's head. I thought Diego clearly won round 3. I don't like that the judges give so many points to being on top in the opponents guard or for weak take downs. Guida always entertains. Diego put on a show that first round. How Guida survived that is beyond me. That kick was unreal.

DeMarques got destroyed. Wilkes was impressive. He rolled submission into submission into submission. I thought he was going to snap Johnson's arm a few times.

The first time I ever saw Guida fight was at strikeforce in 2006 against Josh Thomsen, he pushed the pace and did not stop for 5 solid rounds. It was unreal his cardio and he was rocked a few times in the fight. He ended up winning a unanimous decision and was robbed in his next fight against Gilbert Melendez on a split decision. He bolted for the UFC right after and won his first two fights convincingly.

His first real test was one of the most entertaining fights I had ever seen and that was against Tyson Griffin, they show this fight a lot on UFC unleashed it is a flat out war. Guida in my opinion as well as Dana White and Joe Rogans won the fight but the split decision went to Griffin. At the TUF 6 FInale he fought Roger Huerta who Clay completely dominated for hte first 2 rounds, he had the fight in the bag but because he is Clay Guida he continued to come forward and push the pace, Huerta caught him got his back and submitted him.

Not sure if you guys saw it but Diaz vs Stevenson, Lytle vs Burns and Guida vs Sanchez were all given 25k fight of the night bonuses.

Guida just never recovered from the unbelievable barrage he took in the first half of the first round. Not only that, but as was said above, Sanchez was sick off his back and damn near caved Guida's head in with elbows in the second round which is where all the blood came from. I would love to know how many stitches he needed up there.

I love Guida because he is all heart, keeps coming forward and has one of the best chins in the business. His take downs are great but every other aspect of his game is very average. Average striker, average on top, average off his back. He took Sanchez down quite a bit and a guy who is better on top would have won the fight from there. Guida is my boy but he doesn't have the chops that the top lightweights do.

I think it would be fun to see Sanchez fight the Florian/Penn winner. Sanchez showed unbelievable stand up against Guida. I would like to see whether that was a fluke. He seems to have really improved.

I agree that Guida is not a serious contender but he is damn entertaining to watch. Guida said the doctor "lost count" when putting the stitches in his head.
