    The Official Los Angeles Rams Thread

    It appears this thing is wrapping up -- at least as far as the Rams part of it is concerned. They're moving to LA. The Chargers side of it is still up in the air.

    The Rams have a really talented d-line and some good skill players on offense -- Gurley is a stud.

    Unfortunately they have a coach who somehow keeps on convincing people that he's an above average NFL head coach. Jeff Fisher has mastered the art of either having a 9-7 season or getting his team to beat one of the elite teams in the NFL at the end of the season to convince people that the team is on the upswing.

    The first step is to get rid of Fisher. The next step is to get a QB. The latter is easier said than done.
    Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

              I was a Rams fan back in the Roman Gabriel days. If they start wearing blue and white again maybe I'll return.

                  I was a beneficiary of St. Louis's loss in the 80's. But man, the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals sucked for a long time. It may be awhile before LA has a winning football team.

                      I think there's a possibility that the Chargers could still stay in San Diego. Spanos doesn't really want to move to LA. Now the city understands that there is a viable option for them at Kroenke's new stadium in Inglewood. The reality is that half the owners in the league don't have the money to build a stadium, that's why they're going to the cities for stadiums. Spanos is one of those owners. Mark Davis is in the same position in Oakland. Ditto with the Yorks in the Bay Area.

                      Even owners that are in the position to build something on their own still go to the cities for money -- Paul Allen is the wealthiest owner in the NFL and he didn't finance Seattle's stadium.

                          Every owner in the NFL has plenty of money to finance the stadiums. The NFL is making money hand over fist and it would be easy to leverage those cash flows to finance a stadium. They don't do it because they don't have to. The supply of NFL teams is far below the demand.

                                  Mark Davis has enough money? Dean Spanos? These stadiums cost over 1 billion.
