Did anyone else catch the jab at Guy Ferry during the weight watchers commercial?
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
Of course. Even if Tick had locked his sports heart, he would have been required to complete that supplement, including the explanation section for those who mark "Yes" under the question "Have you ever previously aligned yourself with a professional sports team in the same league as the team for which you are presently seeking a fanship waiver? If your answer is "Yes," explain below why your present waiver should override that prior fanship."
The Seahawks were in the AFC when I fell in love with them, and out of love with the 49ers. They didn't cut back over to the NFC until the end of the 2001 season. (They spent their first season in 1976 in the NFC.) So...spend some more billable hours twisting this farther.

No twisting necessary. I don't see how any of what you just said is relevant to switching allegiances. (Psst, I said league, not conference or division.)

Just to clarify, are you saying "farther" or "further" right there?
I almost positive that GFY means "Good for you!". That's how I like to interpret it, anyway.

This is an awesome article. It convinced me that the Seattle coaches are being unfairly condemned. Classic Monday morning quarterbacking!
I read this last night, of course he's being unfairly condemned. I alluded to this the other night -- Seattle either had the choice of hurrying and running a second down play, but they then risk leaving enough time on the clock for the Pats to score a field goal and tie the game. Seattle made the proper choice in milking the clock. The tradeoff was that Seattle was going to have to pass on either 2nd or 3rd down.
So the choice then comes down to whether Seattle should pass on 2nd or 3rd and which would be more advantageous. New England either had no idea whether Seattle was going to run or pass on 2nd down, or, if anything, they thought Seattle was going to run the ball. Had Seattle run the ball on 2nd down and failed to get into the endzone, then Seattle would have to pass on 3rd in order to ensure they could run a 4th down play if they failed to get into the endzone on 3rd. I would argue you're better off passing on 2nd when the defense has little idea whether you're going to run or pass, as opposed to 3rd when New England would have known they were going to pass the ball.
I do have quibbles about the actual pass play they called. They should have rolled Wilson out to either side. More defenders would have had to commit to stopping Wilson from running into the endzone and opened up more space for someone to get open.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
We know that wasn't junkie, he liked the Dolphins because of their colors.
I thought he picked them out of the newspaper? Or maybe that's why he's a Spurs fan.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Also, for the record, I would like Donuthole and THE Douger to state when they began following the Broncos.

1985. My best friend moved to Denver. We went to see them that fall. We went to a Broncos game against the 49ers. The Broncos won 17-16. That's who I cheered for from that point on.
And I don't really care about the bandwagon that much. Every team has it. I just think it's funny that there's apparently about 6 lifelong Seahawks fans who I've been talking football with for the last 6-7 years at work, and never knew this about them until a couple years ago.
I'm a proud Pats bandwagon fan. I didn't start following them until I moved to Boston. My fandom was solidified one snowy night in 2001, when I was in the Children's Hospital ER waiting room, waiting with a sick kid. It was a busy night and I got to watch a whole football game while waiting. It was really entertaining. Maybe you guys remember the game:
And I've followed them since. Yeah DH and DDD, I'm a pathetic fan, I don't have any history with the Pats. When I was in grade school I loved the Steelers, and I didn't have any history with them either. Hell, I was even a Hawks fan last year, only to hope that Peyton would lose in the Super Bowl again.
Whatever, GFY.
