  • USA vs All Blacks

The famous New Zealand All Blacks are in Chicago to play the USA rugby club the Eagles. Solider Field is the venue and the game is sold out. NBC is showing the game live. Sonny Bill Williams should be fun to watch for the All Blacks.

I'm here with 3 of my brothers. Looking forward to the game. In addition to Sonny Bill's return from League, I'm interested to see how Daniel Carter plays. He missed most of the international season with ankle issues. Maybe he gets held out for the later tests in the UK. It snowed last night so field conditions could be interesting.

All blacks win in a squeaker, 74-6. Those in attendance report it was closer than the score would indicate.

lol. All Blacks just stomp rugby teams around the world and we're all happy to watch em do it.

I hear the haka looked pretty sweet. Maybe BYU should do something like that. You know, to get the boys fired up.

Nobody expected the US to win or to even be close. The game of rugby was the winner today. Over 60,000 paid in the stands today might suggest the US rugby market has matured enough for more elite rugby events. Already there is talk of having 6 nations here in the States which would be incredible. Great day for rugby.

Shoot- if the All Blacks are in town, you can go see em and officially check rugby off your to-do list. That's big-time.

Just got back from the game. As expected the U.S. was outmatched from the get go. NZ scores their first try by simply getting the restart quickly from a penalty while the U.S. was all gathered around the ref. It was interesting early with the score 12-6. NZ then goes on a 62-0 run and it could have been worse as Aaron Cruden missed several conversions. I told the guys next to us I would be happy with one try. They thought I was kidding. NZ defense is so good - no gaps, no overloads, and no missed tackles. The U.S. gave up 3 tries off kicks that were poorly defended. NZ started a good side but not their best. Captain Richie Macaw didn't play, Daniel Carter came in halfway through the second half. Neither Retallick or Whitelock started in the second row. Julian Savea came on as an injury replacement. Sonny Bill showed no rust after playing League for the last couple years.

Despite the outcome it was a fun game. Very cold but the stadium was packed. I love the national anthems at the beginning and the Haka is great live-lots of energy. The U.S. has a long way to go and will probably never reach the level of the Southern Hemisphere teams. Rugby will always trail football, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc in popularity. I still love it.

Great. From the airport in SL we noticed people in All Blacks gear. Talked with several people who travelled from NZ for the match. People from all over the country flew in to watch the All Blacks play.

Hostile, that match was very important to international rugby. Already there is talk of six nations being played in the States. Can you imagine ?

I wasn't there, but I have a hunch it was primarily nitrogen, then about 21% oxygen, with some other trace gases thrown in.

It's chicago. Plenty more than traces are in there.

Definitely some aerosolized 2-carbon fragment malted beverage, both pre and post ingestion.
