The NBA game is borderline unwatchable.

What's the solution? Maybe disqualify players at 5 fouls? But then guys like Lebron and Dwight Howard would spend more time on the bench.

There were going to be a lot of fouls in this game....the Cavs made no secret that their plan was to use their fouls on Howard. This is what we used to see with Hack a Shaq. When you are a lousy FT shooter AND a critical post player in the offense, you are going to get fouled a lot down the stretch as you demand the ball and command double teams. The opposing team would rather play the odds and have that player win it at the FT line than simply dunking the ball.
If you notice, Howard didn't get many dunks tonight. He was hitting his FTs, so the Magic won....and 2 Cav starters fouled out.
The percentages say that it is a good strategy. All other things equal, you want Dwight Howard at the FT line, not 3 feet from the basket.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

The NBA - it's boretastic!Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostThe NBA game is borderline unwatchable."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

I've said this before. You get rid of the FT and have a system like hockey. You foul and you sit in the plenty box for a minute of two. You would have a lot of 4 on 5's, 3 on 5's, 3 on 3's which would open up the court and keep the flow of the game going. I think smaller, quicker teams would have a big advantage since it's going to be a track meet out there.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostWhat's the solution? Do we want to make the NBA more like hockey? I don't think Americans love watching hockey on TV. They love it only slightly less than Spongebob. And horses walking in a circle.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI've said this before. You get rid of the FT and have a system like hockey.
