        Maybe Dempster just wanted to pitch. Went from a valuable part of the starting rotation during the season to the odd-man-out (along with Duobront) when the rotation went to 4 starters for the post season. Dempster only pitched the 9th inning of game 1 during the entire World Series after pitching 170+ innings and making 29 starts during the regular season. Can't blame Dempster for wanting to take the mound, Farrell wasn't around to send him back to the dugout.

              But the timing of my fake Sox fandom somewhat correlates with the movie's release...

                Yes, they are the Yankees in the sense that they have more victories than anyone else, but they are also South America. That helps their underdog cred.
