Hitting is the toughest part of baseball. Williams might be able to play defense, but if he hasn't ever faced pitchers at any level, it would be extremely tough for him to do it. The inability to hit is why Danny Ainge quit playing for the Blue Jays and went to play hoops for the Celtics.Originally posted by Soccermom View Post

I think Ted Williams once said the most difficult thing is sports is to hit a baseball.
Finnely was responsble for a lot of things. I remember he once tried t get a designated runner. He signed a world class sprinter one year and all he did was pinch run. His early 70's teams were one of the first ones to allow facial hair and wear colored jerseys
