What the hell, I'll play along.

    Indy over Oakland.

Going on the road to take the Seahawks over the Panthers. This is a win-win for me, because if by picking the Seachickens in a game they should win, but lose, it's an added bonus as a Niners fan.

If I'm going out in week 1 for the 3rd straight year I'm going out late! Houston over San Diego.

I'd save Seattle for later. They're playing Tennessee in Seattle in week 6. Plus that game against the Panthers is far from a gimme. It's the first game of the season and it's a 10 am Pacific start against an improving Panthers team.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I just couldn't see a more obvious one either. And with that comment Oakland wins in a laugher.

Oakland is going to be historically bad this year. They're carrying something like $40 million in dead cap space.

I don't think Indy is going to be that great either -- something like 8-8 or 9-7, so might as well get them out of the way.
