Now I can stop pretending to like hockey for four more years or until the Kings are in the finals.

And Mike Babcock is an awesome coach.
This is the best Olympic team Canada has put together. They were dominant by the end. Carey Price wasn't anything special but did his job. Canada just control the puck.
They showed that they can win on the bigger ice surface and off the continent.

Congrats to Toews on the gold medal winning goal. I'm happy for Toews, Sharp, and Keith.
Canada was clearly the best.
Lots of blame to go around with the USA. Really poor showing. I didn't like Parise as captain and it showed why in the bronze game. That is when your captain needs to light a fire. Kane played alright, but that isn't enough from your best forward. He deserves a big share of the blame.
By the way there were 6 Blackhawks in the gold medal game. That is damn impressive.

It should come as no surprise that Blackhawks players had the most success in the Olympics. Blackhawks tied with the Red Wings sending 10 players to the Olympics. 6 Blackhawks got medals: 3 gold (Toews, Sharp, and Keith) and 3 silver (Hjlmarsson, Kruger, and Odouya). As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Let me just answer this one more fucking time. I am not a bandwagon Blackhawks fan. I lived through the horrors of the Bill Wirtz ownership of the Chicago Blackhawks.Originally posted by BigPiney View Posthttp://posttrib.suntimes.com/sports/...n-jumpers.html

I became a Blackhawks fan in 1993 when I first started to get into hockey. I was a fan because of my brother and because the Blackhawks employed the services of Chris Chelios, Jeremy Roenick, and Ed Belfour.
I still remember logging onto espn.com one day and seeing with horror the news that Chris Chelios was traded to the Red Wings that worthless piece of shit Anders Ericsson, may he suffer a fate worse than that deserved by Nate Cooper. I dealt with the trading of Jeremy Roenick for the softest player ever to play hockey, Alexei Zhamnov. Belfour for nothing. I watched as Bill Wirtz destroyed the team and let every good player walk or get traded for nothing over salary.

Canada was in a similar situation to the States in 1998. They had a disappointing semi-final game thanks to Dominik Hasek and lost in the bronze medal game. Bronze medal games are tough.
Looks like Eric Lindros was the captain, so maybe you have a point. I don't know that he was much of a leader.

I say this as someone who liked Eric Lindros and felt he was often overly criticized, but I don't see how there is any chance that he was Team Canada's best option as a leader. Look when your team has Steve Yzerman there is really no excuse for naming a different captain.Originally posted by beefytee View PostCanada was in a similar situation to the States in 1998. Bobby Clarke really screwed up on that roster in a lot of ways. That 1998 Olympics was really embarrassing for USA and Canada. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression
