I didn't post it to make a dig at Dodger fans. The reality is he is a hired gun and without the 'roids he gives the Dodgers buyers remorse. His act is old and tired and now that the production tapered off, he will be a hinderance.

I am not a fan of ARod for that matter either. The difference is that he was a pure baseball talent and player even before he followed the well traveled path to steroids. He was Bonds in the AL before Bonds decided to evolve back to cro-magnon man.

he actually hasn't done anything wrong with the Dodgers. he has behaved and been a good teammate. he got busted for taking steroids, but he had done the steroids previously, as well, so that isn't really a Dodgers thing (anymore than A-rod's steroid is a yankees thing).

Everyone in LA likes Manny as do his teammates, so the "old act" thing, while generally true, seems to apply more to his overall resume than his recent behavior.

His crap with the Red Sox....that was weak, I agree.

I think he sees the writing on the wall. His numbers are down. He missed a chunk of the season and he didn't show up against the Phillies. I would expect Boras to lay really low and jump on Holliday's bandwagon right about now.

also, keep in mind that ManRam has 2 rings. ARod has none and has generally been a tremendous failure in the post-season. Both of them roided up, one of them found success and championships. So that has to count for something, I would guess.

I can't remember a game where there has been a worse collection of blown umpire calls than last night. Starting with Kazmir's pick off play at second and the make-up sac fly call later in the inning. And then there was that horrendous double play debacle at third that McLelland missed.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I mean, obviously the players are responsible for the execution... but why on earth would you pull a pitcher like Lackey at that point. Especially when Lackey was clearly telling him that he wanted it. It's not like we're talking about some rookie who doesn't know how to win games. It was a bad calculation by Scioscia and those 6 runs lie on his shoulders. Maybe a couple of runs would've been on Lackey's shoulders, but now they're all on Scioscia's.

I was being totally serious. 6 runs? that is a managerial issue.

Of course, the Angels rally for 3 in the bottom of the inning.

I hate the Yankees. It is very gratifying watching them flounder, esp when they are squandering leads.

One thing I must say.....if the Yankees do win it all this season, A-Rod will have legitimately shed the gorilla off his back. The dude has been insane this post-season. Absolutely amazing.
