Best indictment of the New Yankee Stadium

    As heard on NPR yesterday.

Rather than pony up $5000 for the great seats for a game against (for example) Seattle, you can fly to Seattle, stay at a nice hotel for a couple of nights, have dinner at a nice restaurant (twice), go to two Yankee-Seattle games (and get good seats) and fly back.

And still come in $2000 ahead.

I think NPR may have taken that story, in turn, from the NY Post or similar.

That, gentlemen, is one hell of an overpriced ballpark. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys.

There were tons of Yankee fans in the DC/Baltimore area for their weekend series with the O's. Tickets are much easier and cheaper to procure for Orioles games than for home games up there. Crazy.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

How much of of the 1.2B came out of their pockets? Wasn't most of it financed with munis?

The Yanks will easily hit the 3M attendance mark, they already have their sponsorships sold, and they make millions in concessions and merch.

As much as the Yankees are worthy targets for hate, I think financially they will survive, and then some.

Financially they will survive. They will also look like idiots on TV with a bunch of empties behind home plate.

I went to the Giants vs Nats game on Monday, we bought club level seats (had a nice waitress bring us all of our food without ever leaving our seats) on the third base side for $30 a piece. Face value was only $65.00.

Yankee stadium those exact seats are $150 a piece.

I'll be checking out the two New York stadiums in less than a month. Seeing the Mets v. Phillies, and just got tickets to Mets @ Yankees on Friday night. Should be great.

I'm not paying. I just have nice friends, like you, who buy me dinner and tickets to ball games.
