I think Denver and New England are near shoe ins. I'd be really surprised if either of them lost.

The NFC is more interesting to me this weekend. I just really like how Seattle is playing right now. They can grind, they can sprint, they can get turnovers. The Falcons earned their seed fair and square, but you want to see them prove it in the playoffs. I could see Seattle grinding out a close game. I could see Atlanta blowing them out.

I like the Packers this weekend. It looks like the 9ers should win on paper, but I don't think they'll be able to hold down Rogers again like they did four months ago. I think the 9ers will go too conservative offensively and the Packers will be able to rattle Kap and pull out a tough road win.

I agree. That game will be close. I like the Broncos to win a close one, but the Ravens to cover.

I want to be optimistic about the Falcons beating the Seahawks, but I am not.

I had forgotten about you being a Falcons fan.

It was funny that despite having awful church at 1-4 PM, I knew that things weren't good for the Redskins as SuperGabs, UtahDan and DnF were all missing from Facebook during the game. Then when we got home from church and started watching the game, I became worried that they had entered into a murder/suicide pact. I am glad that was not true.

Falcons over Seahawks -- Stat geeks love the Seahawks and hate Atlanta. The problem is that teams like Atlanta with gaudy records built on narrowly beating crappy teams don't do that well in the playoffs. That said, there's reasons to think that perhaps Atlanta will win this game. First, Atlanta defends the run well and I think this is very important against Lynch. Atlanta also likes to blitz DBs and Wilson has struggled against that. Atlanta is also playing ay home in a game that starts at 10am Pacific time. West Coast teams often struggle in East Coast games that take place at that time. Finally, shouldn't this Falcons team be as motivated as hell with everyone describing them as soft and choke artists? There's a combination of factors here that make me think that Atlanta will win.

I think it would as well.

That said, I think a rematch of Seattle and Green Bay in Lambeau might be pretty awesome as well.

There's a different mindset in the defense and the team when Lewis is on the field. That every game could be his last makes a lot of the players around him want to fight even harder.

Plus he may stab them if they don't play hard. That is a lot of incentive right there.
