5-years younger and without the massive injury problems. He regressed so fast and so completely that I'm sure that there was some sort of injury that was slowing him down.

What is also crazy to think is that Keith is coming close to the end of his 13 year contract. He is with the Blackhawks at most for another 2 seasons. He certainly isn't worth his cap hit anymore either.

In fact, I'd say the only Blackhawk core player that is really worth the cap hit anymore is Kane. It is kind of painful to say that Toews isn't worth his cap hit, but he just isn't. I think the Blackhawks were hurt a lot by the thought that Kane/Toews contracts had to match.

I certainly didn't expect this one. Duncan Keith traded.

I would have preferred to seek Keith play his entire career with the Blackhawks. However, he certainly is not worth his current cap hit. Good luck with the Oilers.

Duncan Keith now retiring. Keith is one of the greatest Blackhawks of all time. The core from that 2010-2015 Blackhawks is really dwindling in the NHL. Hossa, Seabrook, Keith, Crawford, Sharp, and Hjalmarsson are all retired now. Toews is a shell of his former self. Kane is still great, but I'm guessing he will be waiving his NMC soon and he will be playing somewhere else.

Also, Blackhawks getting hit with a cap recapture penalty.

I don't get what the Blackhawks are doing right now. The DeBrincat trade was pathetic. I can understand trading him for assets, but the haul was underwhelming.

there seems to be no plan. They should have traded Kane instead.

I'm pretty sure that will be coming soon as well. I'm sure the haul will be underwhelming too.

Losing Dach hurts almost as much as DeBrincat.

The core of the Blackhawks dynasty is gone. The only reason Toews wasn't traded at this point is he has no value. I'd be shocked if Toews is in the NHL next year. It is crazy to see the entirety of this dynasty now gone. It really was a hell of a run from 2010 to 2016 when the cap and bad moves caught up to the team. This team was so close to 3 straight ups from 2013 to 2015. I'm also convinced that without Raffi Torres headhunting and knocking Hossa out in 2012 that the Blackhawks would have had a great shot at the cup that year.

In retrospect, the beginning of the end really was Hossa going on LITR.

Here is to the best Blackhawk of all time, Patrick Kane.

Whoever ends up with Connor Bedard will have a big jump on doing will but it's going to be a long road for every one of them. I hope he ends up in Arizona.

It is best for the league for him to end up in Chicago.

Connor Bedard to the Blackhawks must happen. He is going with the Patrick Kane tribute mullet.

Toews skating with the team. I think he will get some symbolic shifts to end his career. He just better not help the team win any games.

Blackhawks doing well right now losing 6 straight. Sadly, the San Jose Sharks can't win and neither can the Blue Jackets.
