Why the disdain for the kicking game?

Better that they come down to great finishes with goal line stands, 2 pt. conversions, or touchdowns. I don't consider a missed chip shot fg a great finish, anyway. It always is unsatisfying.

I like kicks. I don't want to see them eliminated. I disagree that they are too easy these days. Ask Billy Cundiff. But if they're so easy, maybe they should make everyone drop kick instead of place kicking.

Same youth pop warner leagues around here will award two points for kicked extra points and only one point if the team elects to run it in. The idea is to develop better field goal kickers for middle and high schools. Maybe Obama should sign an executive order to prohibit youth leagues from making this rule change.

That will lower the rate of success while preserving the other, traditional aspects of the kicking game.

It is unsatisfying if your team loses. if your team wins, it is pretty satisfying.

You are going about this the wrong way. If you want SU to consider this angle, you're going to need to get NPR to do a feature on it.

I agree with Deford. I would go further. I would eliminate punting and the prohibition on passing ahead of the line of scrimmage. Flag footbal style. Quarterbacks and head football coaches are too important. Eliminate all specialization from the game, and then football and not soccer would be the beautiful game.
