  • I haven't heard Staples Center like this in awhile. Kobe is having another ridiculous game.

    • Kobe playing nearly flawless basketball from a decision making standpoint. Very fun to watch.

      • I hate to admit it but I found myself yelling at Pau for mishandling a pass from Kobe. Kobe is easy to root for when he is playing like he has the past couple of games.

        • Kobe went into ball hog mode at the end, but he made most of his shots so hey didn't get hurt. If Kobe lets the others play their game, Lakers will be great. It's means Nash needs the ball a lot so he and Kobe can get it to Dwight and Paul all the time.

          • How much has Kobe's style of play changed the last two games?

            @SportsCenter

            Kobe has more assists than field goal attempts in both of his last TWO games. In his previous 1,203 career gms it happened just THREE times.

              Ball hog mode? He attempted 4 shots (made 3) and had 4 assists.

                It also shows (the high assist numbers) how great his teammates are and how clueless/selfish he's been to this point in the season. If keeps this up through the rest of the year...mad respect.

                  He dribbled the ball in isolation on the right side of the floor for 15+ seconds repeatedly. Sometimes he shot (as I said, he made them in that game, but usually doesn't at a high rate) other times he passed with only a few seconds left on the clock, leaving the team to scramble for a good shot. It all worked out in that game, but he went away from what works better and yes, was in ball-hog mode.

                    Kobe was eating clock by working Thabo on the block to preserve the lead. He passed out of the double team and created for his teammates. If Nash had the ball dribbling around for the same amount of time and on seven of eight possessions either scored or set up a teammate to score nobody would call that ball hog mode. You have to really hate Kobe to find anything wrong with his game yesterday.

                    • Deron averaging 19 and 8.5 in January, 42% from 3 and 94% from the line. His TOs are down to 2.5/gm.

                      Best in-season coach firing ever? The Nets are 11-3 in January and 8 of the games have been on the road.

                      • If Bogut can stay healthy, it seems the Warriors have a pretty damn good team.

                          Yeah, they really do. Great inside-outside balance with him and Lee on the interior and Curry/Thompson on the perimeter. Bitches.
                          So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

                            Which means it can be done by other franchises. Curry is far better than I ever expected him to be. Getting rid of sir Chucksalot has made them balanced and deep. A fun bunch to warch. And yes, they are bitches.

                              Which means what can be done? A team can have inside-outside balance? I didn't realize that was in question.

                                For some idiotic franchises it appears to be in question. Particularly I was referring to GS's ability to take a very unbalanced team, jettison a mill(sap)stone, draft well, & sign some solid if not spectacular pieces. Some teams blow it up while other, smarter teams tank a season to think longterm. I wouldn't even know what that is like as a fan.
