USA 1 Mexico 0 - First win ever at Azteca

I know it's only a friendly. But Mexico brought a pretty decent squad and our group with only a few big names did what no American team has ever done. What a great experience for the young players.

I was already a Klinnsman fan, but I'm becoming a true believer.

Strange first seventy-five minutes but Shea and Timmy save the day. A win in Azteca is nothing to snap about, even if it is only a friendly.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Best news out of Mexico City is that, reportedly, none of the U.S. players were hit by urine bombs, batteries or feces.

Apparently the Mexican fans' aim was poor tonight.

They went with lasers tonight. Lasers were hitting Howard in the eye all night. Poor guy will probably be blind tomorrow.

Why is it that everytime USA travels to play Mexico the USA Fans make up all these stories about bad Mexico Fan behavior? It's total crap. I've never seen that type of activity going on at Azteca.
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                U.S. goalkeeper TIM HOWARD

On the distractions created by the crowd:
I think it’s the less you pay attention the better. If you start calling attention to it, it seems like more lasers come out. Trying to get them to stop it would be futile. It’s part of the game now, you hope that the stadium and FIFA to do something about it, but we don’t expect it and just get on with it.
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
