  • Yes! Nice find. I think you will enjoy it.

Another interesting aspect is that MJ was still either insecure or frustrated by the criticism that he wasn't yet at Magic level. At this time, he had won 2 rings, not 6, so there were still some skeptics. I remember the transition and torch passing well. The documentary focuses in on a few key events of the Barcelona games that signaled the official changing of the guard and passing from the lakers/celtics era to the bulls era.

Also, the dream team travelled with their spouses and kids!

    • MJ said he wanted to play on the team so he could figure out all of these guys weaknesses and beat them later. One championship against Chuck and two against Stockton and Malone after 1992.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

he actually didn't say that. He said that playing on the team helped him see sme weaknesses, not that it was a motivation for accepting the invitation to play on the team.

          • Coach K on Jim Rome comparing MJ, Kobe, LBJ - sort of. Pretty vanilla comparisons, actually, but K gives a fairly interesting response nonetheless:

As I mentioned, it wasn't much of a comparison.
