    That was cool. Definitely showed that they are athletes and the Paralympics are more just handing out orange wedges and trophies.

    Do they have different categories for different events? Like physical vs. mental disabilities?

      I believe that it solely considers physical disabilities, whereas the Special Olympics is for those are suffer from mental defects.

          I guess that shows what kind of ignorant buffoon I am. I never knew the difference between the Paralympics and Special Olympics. Oh well, my dad always told me to own who I am.

            Isn't it true that non-disabled persons can compete (e.g. wheelchair racing?) Could be wrong, but I remember reading an article about a guy with perfectly functioning legs who was world-class wheel chair racer.

            Also, a buddy of mine is an archer on the paralympic team (LDS Returned missionary; solid dude). http://www.teamusa.org/Athletes/BE/Eric-Bennett.aspx
