    Official LPGA thread

If you want to talk about Natalie Gulbis full time that's fine but since I've gotten the golf channel I find myself watching occasionally. The first thing that jumps out at me is these Korean girls just all seem to blend together. They dominate the tour but none seem to stand out. Yani Tseng, the world's number one player, hits the ball like a guy and could stay there for a long time. Lexi Thompson is going to be a star and make everybody forgot who Michelle Wie was. I don't expect much action is this thread but at least they now they have their own thread.

HFN has been mocking me for years about watching LPGA golf. I like it. Let me throw out a plug for this season of Big Break, as well. Some attractive ladies on this season. Too bad a hottie had to go home in week one.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

To be fair though I'd mock you for most things you do, that's part of my charm.

Some Korean girl won the Open yesterday. I think her last name was Kim or Park or it could have been Choi, anyway she seemed to drive the ball fairly straight, was a good putter and seemed very polite on the course.

One of the last HBO Real Sports did a segment about women's golf in S. Korea. Basically kids girls are going to full time golf academies starting around 11-12 instead of HS. The will spend 10-14 hours a day hitting balls and watching film on their swing.

I'd probably be better if I did that too. Now just how do I get my wife on board?

I watch the US Women's Open every year. NY Choi brought it home with a big lead. After her triple bogie, she comes back with a birdie, and that long putt she made to save par after being in the weeds - good stuff.

The Asian dominance in women's golf is a curious thing. The LPGA tour is like free money, and no one in the US cares enough too show up. The Asian ladies see the opportunity and fill the void. In the end, its going to really hurt the LPGA because American Fans aren't going to pay to go watch a SK winner of the week. On the other hand, If you had 30/40 ladies like Paula Creamer and Suzann Petterson, the LPGA tour would be as hot or hotter the the PGA Tour.

If Lexi Thompson keeps improving and winning the LPGA may survive. I believe it was Jan Stephen who said that the Korean players were killing the tour and he got a lot of heat for it but deep down I think everybody knew she was right.

Michelle Wie with back to back 68's and leading the Open right now. Maybe she will fulfill the promise she showed ten years ago. It's been interesting to see the men and women play the same course in back to back weeks. What's stood out for me is how much better the men's short game is over the women.

Is she still using that table-top putting stance?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Yes, I have to look away when she putts or I feel dirty.
