That first fight was kind of boring. Cantwell didn't move in when it looked like he had Cane stunned. Cane had some power but didn't ever seem to have Cantwell in trouble.

Being a noob to this, correct me if I am wrong on this theory. I have seen Kongo fight a few times now, and it seems that to beat him you would have to have superior world class Jiu Jistu skills. His stand up is powerful and when he is on top his g&p is viscious. I am probably wrong and if I am what is the secret?

Damn. Sucks for liddell. Another noob question, Could Chuck have a concussion factor going on. Seems like they could experience what QB's go through.

Leites didn't even want to fight after the 3rd round. I thought the first fight was boring, this one takes the cake.

That was a very boring card. I sure hope Chuck "The Glass Chin" Lidell hangs it up. My little sister could knock him out. It's sad. He used to be so good.

                My take on the card:

                1. Luis Cane is a bad ass.
                2. Cheick Kong is a bad ass if he can keep it standing, he cant find off his back.
                3. Krystoff is a douche bag but that was a nice kimura.
                4. Chuck needs to hang it up, he is getting slow and old and he has now lost 4 of his last 5 fights.
                5. Matt Wiman got robbed, I thought he won rounds 1 and 3 of that fight.
                6. Anderson deserved to get booed for not doing crap in the first 2 rounds. He tried to push the pace and fight in the last 3 but Leites is a pussy. I hope the UFC cuts Thales Leites for that performance. Also Anderson Silva has never been a big PPV draw, after his last two fights I dont see how the UFC can have him as the only draw on a card ever again.

I would like to see Silva fight GSP. Silva is probably too big for GSP, but I think it would be a good fight.

                    Dana apologizes for last night,

“I can honestly tell you that I’ve never put on an event that I was embarrassed to be at until tonight. I want to publicly apologize to all the fans. I apologize. I personally apologize for what happened tonight. You guys know, this isn’t what the UFC was built on and this isn’t the way the fights usually go. Listen, any night you can have an off-night. When a guy is that talented and can literally end a fight whenever he wants to, wow. We’ve got to do something. Watching that was hard. That was tough to take. It was embarrassing, honestly. It was really and truly embarrassing.”

I stayed away from this one because the card looked like a snoozer. Looks like I was right. I guess the biggest story is the Liddell is done. I understand that Silva scarcely showed up, but the need to give him someone serious to fight or it will be like the last two. Preferably at 205. He is what, 34 or 35? The veneer of invincibility won't be there forever. Just ask Liddell and Hughes. It would be nice to see him have some elite fights in the light heavyweight which shouldn't be hard to set up at deep at that division is.

I would like to see him fight a past champion/gatekeeper next. Maybe Forrest Griffin or Machida if he loses in May or maybe even Rampage. If he wins that, let him have a shot at Evans (who I personally think would make an abstract painting on the mat with Silva's head). He needs to fight a legit contender next. Make it happen Dana, you are letting one of your league's biggest stars get booed because you are setting up garbage fights for him.

                      EDIT:

On another topic, is anyone else excited to see Serra v. Hughes in UFC 97? I personally think Hughes is washed up but I find Serra obnoxious enough that I would like to see Hughes make a comeback against this guy. You can't take away Serra's win against GSP, but I think the rematch showed what a fluke that was and what a fraud Serra is. What is his signature win outside of that? Christ Lytle? He has lost to some good fighters but who has this guy beat?
