I haven't followed the NBA that closely this year, I was surprised to see how good the Warriors are. What seed are they going to have in the playoffs?

Now that the Lakers are basically out of the running against the Cavs but have clinched over the Celtics, there is very little reason to play Kobe or Pau in these final 2 games (other than maybe getting Bynum's timing back while playing alongside Gasol).

I would look for a game at Staples against the Laker bench.

However, it is entirely possible that Odom, Walton, Fisher, Bynum, Farmar, Sasha, Shannon Brown, and Josh Powell could also beat this Jazz team.

I cant think of a team with worse momentum than the Jazz going into the WC playoffs.

Jazz seem to be clawing back into this, though. Not over yet.

Someone mentioned this in another thread, but it seems the Jazz are a different team after the blown lead at Miami. I have zero inside info, but it's not a stretch to speculate that there was a lot of blame being thrown around in the locker room after that loss. I wouldn't be surprised if DWill and Sloan were chewing some butts out, and this late in the season maybe that ends up backfiring. In addition, I don't think they've adjusted to losing Millsap as a starter, and it doesn't help that Booz plays with very little fire.

I find this interesting. The rise of Deron's alleged awesomeness (as measured by personal stats) magically coincides with 2 straight years of regression as a team.

Jazz fans don't want to hear that, I am sure, but there it is. I said earlier this season that I was not really convinced that Deron made his teammates much better, if at all. Look at this team as presently constituted. It is largely the same team for the past 3 seasons. Is it better? Seems like it gets progressively worse.

That is more a function of the interior defense not Deron Williams. I always loved Majerus' defensive philosophy, you never get pissed at the guy who gets beat off the dribble you go after the guy who doesn't properly rotate over. Williams has no support for the big men on the team and that is why PGs have been lighting them up. It is the same reason that SGs light up the Jazz.

I have no problem with Majerus' philosophy about riding the guys that don't rotate. But Williams has the same guys not rotating that he has had not rotating each of the previous 2 seasons right? Well, except the much bemoaned Collins isn't playing anymore.

I am still holding out hope that the Jazz are just sand bagging to play the Lakers in the first round.
