He's the new Jimmer, now that Jimmer has come out flat.

That seemed like the obvious comparison to me as well. Lin seems to be out-Jimmering Jimmer.

This could be the night when he comes back down. He needs to probably get conditioned to playing at least 35 minutes a night and they're playing their second game in two nights.

With that said, the first half isn't over and he has 9 points and 4 assists.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

... and then just like that he has 15 points.

I'm too young to remember Fernando Valenzuela, but that was a pretty huge deal too, this is something like that I guess.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

No he's not a fluke, but I bet when Carmelo gets back he's numbers will go down and the team won't be as good, it will go back to being Melo offensive ball stopper score mode.

Watching him makes me wish Jimmer had gone to the Knicks, or a some functional team. Lin may be a slightly better ball handler, but no other real difference, except that he may not be the shooter Jimmer is.

Also, we'll see if he keeps it up as teams game plan around him.

Seems like a good kid though. I'll pull for him.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Lin's a better run/jump athlete and Jimmer is definitely a better shooter.
                  I'm like LeBron James.

Do you think? I haven't seen any jaw-dropping stuff (just off ESPN--haven't watched a whole game) and I think Jimmer is a decent athlete.
He seems to have a better basketball IQ, but we still haven't seen Jimmer on a team that runs an offense and has other scoring threats.

Lin also has better size. He's 6'3 and it appears as if he has a decent wingspan (channeling Jay Bilas)

Lin is the new Steve Nash in the D'Antoni system.

I hate the Knicks, but it's hard not to want Lin to win. Barring some huge decline, he is my runaway favorite for athlete of the year in 2012.
