Andre Miller against the 76ers last night: 28 points, 10 assists, 3 rebounds. The old man still has ability and is probably the best backup PG in the NBA. At 35 he is still averaging 10.5 ppg, 6.4 apg, and 3.5 rpg and still playing 28 mpg.

I'm really going to miss it him playing when he retires, but I can see him playing another 3-4 season in the NBA. He should crack the top 10 all time in assists this year.

Andre is amazing and I mean that in all seriousness. He is so incredibly savvy. For a guy that is not very quick and has a mediocre shot he is a testiment of how important court vision, intelligence and an exceptional feel for the game is. All of the kidding about Jimmer's college career aside, I am a huge Andre Miller fan.

He is a free agent next year and I think he has one more contract in him. I'm not sure he is a starter anymore, but he is an upgrade over the Jazz's current starting PG (which isn't saying much).

The only problem right now in relying on Miller is consistency. He follows up his game against the 76ers with 0 points and 5 assists against the Wizards. Next game against the Knicks he has 14 points, 12 assists.

This is why I think the remainder of his career he is best as a backup. At age 35 that is not an insult as a lot of PGs are out of the league(or should be out of league like Derek Fisher) by the time they are 35.

It was a crazy shot for one. Certainly, not my favorite Dre in the NBA moment. Dre's lasting NBA legacy for me is always going to be him taking out Blake Griffin. It got even better with him stating that he wanted to hit him harder and complaining about the suspension.

Hollinger having Ray Felton as a honorable mention for disappointments on the season reminded me to point out that the Blazers screwed up by trading Miller for Felton.

Sure they got younger, but they got worse. Not too surprising, Felton isn't thriving in the McMillan methodical slow down offense. Miller wasn't a great fit for that either as he is at his best when he is pushing the ball up the floor, but at least Miller has value in the half-court set.

Not to rub salt on the wound and I'm not a huge David Locke fan (voice of the Utah Jazz) but I was driving home last night and he made a pretty funny if not ham-handed joke about the throwback uni's the Wizards were wearing last night. He suggested that the players that formerly wore those jerseys were in fact in uniform last night, as in a group of geriatrics (at the time the Wizards were down 30 at halftime) It might have also been the exact moment Flip lost his job.

What's really funny is that those aren't throwbacks...those are their unis this year. The 1970s Bullets unis with the name Wizards on it. I think they're working on changing the name...and hopefully the roster too.
