I was just thinking that I can't recall a worse time to be a Northern California sports fan. Please correct me if I'm wrong or if I forgot anyone.

A's - suck
Giants - suck
49ers - suck
Raiders - suck
Warriors - suck
Kings - suck
Stanford - suck
Cal - mediocre, at best
Sharks - good, but who cares? Hockey sucks

Another positive: The Bay City Bombers are slowly gaining mo as a flagship team in roller derby.

We recently went to see derby in LA. It is a very cool subculture that is coming back around again after all these years.

Good point. We have a local team that is on the rise as well. Their name, you ask? "The Angry Beavers". But don't let the name fool you. I've met a couple of them. They are neither angry, nor beavers.

Not IN the bay area, but I've been there. Thats got to count for something.

And I thought about that tid bit after starting the thread. Thus the reason for the change in the first post about Nor Cal sports teams. Its not just you folks that suck, its all of us north of palo Alto and south of Medford.

Seems to be catching on as well in SLC. Just finished putting together the tibia and ankle of a woman who injured her leg in roller derby. Her derby name is Veronica Tastrophe.
