  • NFL Week 12! Good Thanksgiving Games

OK, I'll start a thread for once since I don't see one yet.

Some good games today. I wouldn't mind seeing the long-suffering Lions fans get a win.

Anybody else see this great story about a Packers fan recently? A guy was giving blood for years to make money for his Packers tickets. Then found out he had hemochromatosis and giving blood probably saved his life because he never developed iron overload. Awesome story -- they had a good piece on ESPN this morning.

My cheap.ass sister in law doesn't have cable, satellite or even an antenna. Best NFL Thanksgiving games ever too.

Other things my sister in law lacks -- bath rugs and towels purchased within the past decade. And I'm also paying for basically the entire Thanksgiving meal. But she did spring for the BYU acapella CD.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I do have an antenna, but I'm a cheap ass that also lacks cable and satellite and will continue to be a cheap ass for a long time. I do own towels and rugs purchased in the past 10 years, but would never spring for a BYU acapella CD. I won't let that filth in my household.

How do you watch sports that aren't on the broadcast channels?

Suh gets ejected from the Lions Packers game for shoving an O-lineman head into the ground after the play then stomping on him. GB gets a TD instead of a FG. What an idiot.

And Suh tries to say he's not a dirty player.

Nice pick by Sean Smith earlier in the game. I don't care much about these teams, but it's fun to see the former Utes.

I'm not sure there has ever been a dirtier tandem than Suh and Fairley

Why are NFL vets letting these whippersnappers come into the league and basically punk everyone?
                    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I agree. It was weird seeing the Packers players all watch Suh do what he did and instead of knocking him on his rear end, they all start motioning to the refs to throw a flag. Weak.

They retaliate and they have offsetting penalties and have to settle for a field goal. No reason to stoop to that level, they took it to them on the field, that's all that matters.

That's weak. Scoreboard isn't all that matters. Someone was deliberately trying to hurt/injure their teammate. This isn't a shove after the play is over. This is someone pushing someone's head into the turf 2-3 times and then stomping on them. This is about protecting your teammates.

So what's the story tonight? I'm following the game online and Alex Smith has been sacked five times. Are these just aggressive blitzes or is Alex Smith being Alex Smith and simply holding onto the ball too long?

San Fran's right tackle is awful tonight. Baltimore is bringing heat and the San Fran line hasn't been able to handle it. I have been bouncing back and forth between this and the Texas A&M game but this is my observation from what I have watched.
