His first fight with Ali was truly the fight of the century. I remember listening to the updates on the radio. The whole country stopped for that fight that night. White America got behind Frazier to beat Ali and because of this Frazier got a bad rap as an Uncle Tom that he never deserved.Comment

I wasn't cognitive for any of thier matches but I love watching the clip of him KO'ing Ali with the left hook in the Garden, and of course watching the epic in Manila. I wish it had a different ending every time I see it.

A note on this point and it goes to my dislike of Ali. It was Ali who labeled Frazier an "Uncle Tom." He called him a "gorilla" and a "dummy" before the fight and for years after. Ali started the Uncle Tom label. While not classy, I found it funny that at the height of everyone's love affair with Ali, Frazier never forgot those slights and still had a 'f*** Ali' mentality. When Ali lit the torch at the '96 games in Atlanta, Frazier said he would have liked to have "pushed him in." Ha!Comment

Ali-Frazier 3 definitely rates high, and very likely highest. Frazier-Foreman I might have been the most vicious, shocking result of all time. Listen to Howard Cosell's call of that fight. Frazier was on the wrong end of two of the greatest fights ever. But never once did he back down, and in those fights, it took the actions of others to stop them. What a warrior!Comment
