Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

If that had been the difference in the game, it would deserve more scrutiny (it was a bad call). But since the Cards won by much more, it's a non-point.

I think it may have opened the flood gates, but I'm probably wrong. Kudos to Pujols, that's a special thing for him and for baseball.

btw, you were right about your prediction about the next games being slugfests.

Belter having a great WS. Almost batting .400

What's with that weird kneeling action in his swing? Very unorthodox but hard to argue with the results.

Cards need to work on base stealing. Awful tonight.

However, bad things are happening to them on the field, so I can't complain.

I haven't watched all of it, but this has been a great Series so far. Strong pitching, only one off-the-wall slugfest, stellar defensive plays. Yeah, there have been quite a few LOB, but part of that is from the pitching, too. I'm guessing Funk enjoyed Pujols' last two ABs and the ensuing shots of LaRussa.
I have nothing else to say at this time.

LaRussa screwing his team over makes me smile. Rosenthal has a great article on LaRussa in this series.

Should Texas win the Series, Napoli is the only deserving candidate for MVP. Dude has been nails.

What about Beltre? I suppose Napoli would be the front runner right now but Beltre has had a nice week.

It is amazing to think that the Angels traded Mike Napoli for Vernon Wells.

Really who trades for Vernon Wells especially a good player for Vernon Wells.

                        Stay classy, Chris Carpenter!

That is how it ended up. But they actually traded Napoli and Juan rivera for Vernon Wells which might be an even worse deal. Then Toronto trades Napoli for Frank Francisco.

Toronto already has JP Arrenciba so they didn't need a catcher and they have a bad bullpen. So the Toronto-Texas part of the deal was actually pretty solid as Frank Francisco had a good year.

The Angels had to trade either Napoli or Mathis especially with Conger waiting in the wings.

The Vernon Wells thing is dumb especially taking on that contract.

Beltre has had his moments, but Napoli has been so much better. For instance, Texas as a team has 19 RBIs. Napoli has 9 of those. Combined with what he's done behind the plate, there's no reason to consider anyone else.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

Cue mpfunk for a rant on how meaningless RBI statistics are. That said, I think Napoli is probably leading the Rangers in most of the sabermetric stats, so your conclusion is not invalid, just your reasoning.
