For someone that I don't think is a particularly good defender or super athletic, he seems to get a lot of blocks. Does he have longer arms than it looks like so he catches people off guard?

He does have long arms, and he has good timing--both key elements to being a good shot blocker. Korver is a decent helpside defender, but not good enough to make up for his poor on-the-ball defense, or his erratic offense.
He should definitely be getting 4th quarter minutes over Brewer, though. Especially in games where Brewer has 17 points in 24 minutes, and has shut down the other team's best offensive player.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I think Sloan likes him in there because he knocks down all his FT's.Originally posted by Donuthole View Post

I don't have an issue with Korver getting minutes. I think his play of late has improved and he's hitting his shots with a bit more consistency. Now, I wouldn't say he should be getting his minutes at the expense of Brewer. I think this is the lineup that should play down the stretch on most nights:Originally posted by Donuthole View PostHe does have long arms, and he has good timing--both key elements to being a good shot blocker. It is obvious Boozer isn't 100%, or if he is 100% that he has turned into a pisspoor jumpshooting pansy. I'd go with Sap down the stretch, especially right now. He brings great rebounding, better D than Boozer and honestly his jumper is getting better. If there is one substitution, I think you can bring in AK for any of the positions 2-4, and if needs be move Sap to the 5 in some situations.

Well, women do appreciate his good looks, so maybe these guys that are going to the hole get distracted as Korver is coming straight at them.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostFor someone that I don't think is a particularly good defender or super athletic, he seems to get a lot of blocks. From what I hear (and see for myself), he looks kind of like Ashton Kutcher. People have named their sons after him, so I've heard. Women I've talked to think he's the All American Cute guy...who just happens to make tons of money.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI don't get that at all. He looks like a Geico Caveman.
