Dear Raider fans I understand you are conflicted right now. You don't really want to celebrate his death but . . .

I went through the same process when Bill Wirtz died.

Abe Polin dying was the same for me. Things weren't going to be better until he did.

I predict he made his fluffy dog owner and team president in his will. I further predict vertical speed is mentioned no less than 36 times in said will.

RIP Al Davis. As much as this Broncos fan hated your guts, you changed the game for the better.

Wow! That's two in one week for me.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

Ding dong the witch is dead. Still, he seemed to have turned things around a bit the last two years. And there is something to be said about doing things his way. He was a legend and well deserving of his HOF entry almost twenty years ago. He was an innovator and maverick with success at virtually every level. I am anxious to see what happens with this franchise going forward. Like with Steve Jobs' passing, I think the culture is too strong to see any noticeable changes in the near future. I hope his axioms of just win baby and commitment to excellence live forever.

Much like Farrah Fawcett who died about the same time as Michael Jackson, Al Davis' death will be overshadowed by Steve Jobs. When I die, I hope no one more popular or important than me dies and steals the spotlight from me.

This lessens the pain of losing out on the Big 12.
