In fantasy news: When the NFL network replays it watch the first 2 series of the Lions vs Bengals game. If that is a sign of things to come for Jahvid Best he is going to be a stud this year. They had him lined up all over the field and went to him early nad often.
I hope so. It's been a long time for us Lions fans (is "us" overstating it?), and Schwartz and company seem to be building some momentum with personnel and mentality.
Alex Smith with an INT. Awesome. I know it's preseason but this sure ha the feel of been there done that. Why did I let myself get suckered into thinking Smith finally got it.

How bad was it?
I admire the 49ers for being uncharacteristically patient with Alex Smith. He reminds me of what we're looking at in DC with Rex Grossman. You know exactly what you're getting and what he can do and you just have to hope that he gives you more than he hurts you...which is why most of the fans are hoping Beck is the guy.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I understand that Smith has had about 124 offensive coordinators, but the dude has been in the league how long? He's never had it. The guy is QB2 or 3. He's not an NFL starting quarterback.
To be honest, that Harbaugh decided to go with him made me shake my head. But I suppose his ego, and prowess as a QB coach, makes him think he can do with Alex Smith what all other coaches before him haven't been able to. Why anyone would want to hitch their train to Smith is stupidty.

I think it was more a matter of having no other options...I mean, he either hitches his wagon to Smith for 1 year or McNabb, Kolb, or Hassleback for 3 or 4. Perhaps we just wants to get his guy in there, whether that is Kapernick or someone else.

With the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft the San Francisco 49ers select Andrew Luck from Stanford.

They won't be bad enough to land the #1 pick.

Max Hall has 1 series yesterday completes his first 2 passes, then short hops the next two and gets pulled for Richard Bartel who he had replaced earlier in the game. Things are not looking good for Max to make this team. On top of that he is ineligible for the practice squad because he was active for 10 games last year.
Vic So'oto continues to look good for Green Bay with 3 more tackles yesterday.
We all know about Becks performance.
Bryan Kehl had 3 tackles for St. Louis, Poppinga and Nixon were shut out.
Aaron Francisco signed with the Lions on Thursday.
It's very nice to turn on the TV this Sunday evening and enjoy some NFL football (even if it's preseason). It's been a long time.

Like the Dead Pool, let's have a Serious Injury to NFL Player pool.
I'm taking the Cowboys Felix Jones in Week 4.

I just saw that Harbaugh was the last guy not named Manning to start for the Colts.

He looked really damn good at the end of 2006 with Nolan as HC and Turner as OC. Then Turner got hired by the Chargers, Smith got injured early in 2007, and he didn't get the chance to build on that momentum.
I would've preferred to see him get a fresh start with another organization prior to the 2009 season, though.

What part of the end of 2006 did he look really damn good?
