Travis pastrana broke his ankle tonight in freestyly MX trying some TP roll trick. ESPN/ABC must be crapping their pants right about now. First night and the big star is gone for the whole event.

I happened to be watching this when it happened the other night. As soon as he left the ramp you could tell he was in trouble. It obviously looked really bad when he had a dozen people huddled around him as he lay motionless on the ground.
A few minutes later after cutting away to a commercial they show him walking off the course with nothing more than someone holding on to his elbow. At the time I thought it was incredibly stupid and careless to allow him to walk or move at all, consider the possible serious neck injury.
As it turns out it wasn't a neck injury, but it could be just as bad. He is now in critical condition in a Colorado hospital with a serious concussion and bleeding around his heart. His family is not sounding very hopeful for his recovery right now.
His brother was also injured this week in a wreck of his own. Separated pelvis. Not exactly sure what they mean by that, unless they are referring to an open book pelvic fracture, a very serious injury on and of itself.
I really hope he can pull through.
