    C. Paul couldn't escape his supporting cast. It was a brave effort.
I still find it funny you thought that because of Paul, the Hornets had a chance to win. Seriously funny.

Perhaps if Paul were clearly better than Williams, that might have been true. Those of us who understand that Paul isn't clearly a better player than Williams knew better. Both players had weak supporting casts and the Lakers are too good, too big, too deep and too well coached to let a good PG beat them.

There's no comparison between the supporting cast that was at Utah and that in New Orleans. Unlike Deron Williams, Chris Paul sucked me in with his talent and play and I thought there was a possibility he could overcome the fact that Okafor and Landry were his big men. Deron Williams created no such impression.

Williams has moved on, so you need to become rational again. I know it's frustrating to realize that Paul would likely still be in Utah while you're left with Devin Harris and memories of a dude sporting Keith Van Horn's Rocky Mountain Caesar from 1996.

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I think the blazers are cooked.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Chris Paul created no such impression either, at least in the minds of those who are/were thinking rationally. I think that's the part of this discussion you're not quite grasping at this point.

Something else you're not getting. Paul hasn't won shit in the NBA. I'm at loss as to why I might want him in Utah.

Someone at espn today said with his nice showing cp3 is back in the top 5 pg conversation. Wtf? I didn't think hed fallen off the radar that much. In my mind he's always been in the discussion for the top spot.

I like the Blazers' team, but I loath the fans. They're the whiniest group of fans in professional sports. I don't like the Mavs' team but I'm ambivalent about the fans. Watching Nowitzki shoot jumpshots the entire game isn't my cup of tea.

Amazingly enough, Nowitzki and Kobe have never faced each other in the playoffs. That's unbelievable until you realize that the Mavs have choked in the playoffs almost every year except for the years the Lakers were in limbo post-Shaq and pre-Gasol.

Well, you can have Devin Harris then. Good luck with that.

Lose with Harris, lose with Williams or lose with Paul...either way you're losing.

                    Agreed. That makes no sense.

The whole paul-williams thing has worked out in a funny way. I remember at draft and workout time cp was overtly indicating that he had no interest in going to utah. Part of the argument in favor of williams was that most believed cp wouldn't stay past his rookie deal. Now cp is still with the team that drafted him and williams is gone. Though williams at no point ever deliberately stated he wanted out of utah, where cp was asking to be traded for a while.

Blazers on a nice little run after the big donuthole 3.

The shooting in the last few minutes has been lights out.

Also, I'm always impressed with how good a shooter Dirk is with a little guy up in his chest.

Is it nerdy that I always kind of like the blazer's "wear in the world" thing?

Dang. Huge consecutive buckets from kidd and terry.

Where's the funkster? It doesn't feel right without someone in here complaining about the officiating.

The Lakers will beat the Mavericks in five games.

They might as well just start the OKC-Lakers WCF right now.
