Manny's not taking the latest offer.
Is there any other team that is going to bid for him?"More crazy people to Provo go than to any other town in the state."

Again, no problem. All this does is hurt Manny in the long run.
Pretty soon, the press is going to smell blood in the water. Once the season starts, look for the articles to begin about how selfish Manny is again, how immature he is, how greedy he is being during this economy, etc...
I love the reference to "serious offers"Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

It's time for the Dodgers - and every other MLB team for that matter - to tell Manny to take a hike.
Far too many pros don't understand that it is a privilege, not a right, to play a professional sport. And the pro franchises that cave to these idiots do nothing to help the situation."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

But I won't begrudge the Dodgers when they sign him."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Same. EPU is right and I agree.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI agree.

At this point, I would love to have Manny's bat in the Dodger lineup, but his nonsense has worn thin. I hate to play the economy card, but I actually am a bit put off by this selfishness at a time when people all over LA are losing jobs and houses. The Dodgers are offering Manny $45 million freaking dollars for 2 years worth of work. Thus far, they not only have been turned down (which I don't mind), but the offers are met with disdain and rudeness....as though that kind of money is offensive. ManRam would be the second highest paid player in the league at that rate.
The experiment worked well for half of last season. Apparently, we are now seeing why it doesn't work well in the long-term.
It would be classic if the MLB gave Manny the Bonds treatment. "Sorry, We're Closed"Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Nor will I. The game is played to be won and the Dodgers increase their chances of winning by signing him.Originally posted by Surfah View PostI agree.

Still, it would be great to see Manny forced into retirement never to play again because he's such a weenie."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Lincey signs for $650K
One year. Dooh. He is going to get HUGE dollars next season - from arbitration.
Maybe the Giants now make a run at Manny for this season?

The sharks smell blood in the water already.
This is only going to be worse PR for Manny as national media starts to chime in. Is it Boras's goal to make his players the most hated players as well as get them a lot of money?

I read these articles last night at like 1 in the morning and they seriously made me pissed at both Manny and Boras.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostThe sharks smell blood in the water already.

It looks like Boras has thrown over 2 counter offers and someone has put a noon deadline on them. Not sure who put the deadline in place.
Boras is a jackass."Take it to the Bank"

I think the noon deadline is related to these offers, not to new negotiations, in general. So my guess is that they will start this little dance all over again.
The longer they wait, the more Boras and Manny will be skewered.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I would just like to use this opportunity to say that Bill Plaschke is a complete moron. Not for anything in particular in that article but just in general. If you need examples of him being a moron, I suggest reading here:Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostThe sharks smell blood in the water already.
