I was listening to the radio surfing on line and they said a lot of the talk around all-star weekend has obviously been about the Suns trying so hard to trade Amare Stoudamire, but there has been even more growing chatter about PHX and Cleveland trying to work out a deal with Amare,,,,BUT...that he might not end up now getting traded at all if Terry Porter gets fired, which it sounds like might happen by Monday.

Either of those deals I imagine Cleveland would have to include pick(s) to make it happen, and both would be cap-space clearing moves for Phoenix as those contracts expire after this season. Pairing Amare with LeBron and Mo Williams makes Cleveland a very dangerous team. Your team looks like this:

Or, if you are Phoenix you could really clear cap space after this season and move Barbosa, Amare and Dragic for Wally, Varejo and Snow and you clear $26 mil off of your books, and the next year you have Steve Nash and Shaq's deals off of your books, giving you another $30 mil is savings. I think it is obvious that Phoenix isn't winning it this year or next, so do you blow it up now and make sure you have plenty of cap space in 2010 to be able to offer any one or two free agents or do you try to shake up the roster and improve chemistry? I think you tried the later last year and it blew up in your face... maybe now is a good time to blow everything up. But man, that sure would make Cleveland tough on paper.
