Where have you gone Rulon Gardner?

It appears the answer to this question is to the KFC-Taco Bell combo...a lot.

One of the great Olympic heroes of our generation, a wilderness survival miracle, and now this?

I've never watched the Biggest Loser before, but I would imagine that Rulon is likely more internally motivated than most participants. He has pushed his body and mind in the past (I would assume to wrestle at the level he did). I hope the best for him.

I have never watched the show, but I did last night just for Rulon. I think I may stay with it at least until he is off the show. I saw this on the web this morning: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/7...-is-obese.html

And in cities and neighborhoods like Midvale, Rose Park and West Jordan (north and west areas), the obesity rate is the highest in Utah — more than 30 percent of the adult population there are considered obese.

Bullshit. Healthy food is all around, you just have to choose to eat it.

This happens to a huge number of athletes. They spend years needing to ingest huge amounts of calories to fuel their training and that one day that training is over for a lot of them. I would not be shocked if someone told me was just eating what he always ate and not exercising any more.

I continue to be amazed by Mark May, the former hog. Here are some playing pictures followed by current pics.

            And Mark Schlereth

Edit: maybe not the best picture to demonstrate...

              You said it.

The other day I was in the store buying, among other things, some fresh bell peppers (red and green) and a red onion. Took the cashier forever to even find the sheet with the sku codes for those items, let alone the codes themselves. It's a sad commentary when buying normal produce is so rare that it becomes an event at checkout.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I saw Mark May the other night on ESPN and was shocked how small he is. He must put a lot of work in.

Somewhere this man is wondering 1) how he lost that match and 2) why he didn't just retire after 1996 with his 3 consecutive golds:

Why because his wife is paralyzed in a terrible accident that killed his daughter and he tells everyone he can't handle taking care of her everyday so he divorces her and leaves her high and dry?

Or because he is on his 4th wife, acts like he is completely untouchable to the world, has blown through millions of dollars and cares about nobody but himself?

                            Pretty good place to start.
