    Lebron's new Nike commercial- Tremendous

Fantastic commercial by Nike, I especially like the dig at Barkley.

Answer: You should learn to pass the ball, LeBron.

I can't stand the commercial. I don't know who's calling the advertising shots at Nike, but those weird Tiger Woods commercials and this one seem woefully ineffective.

It also seems counterproductive for Lebron personally, in that it just emphasizes the guy's self-absorption. What should you do? Truthfully, Lebron, nobody really cares.

I like the commercial. Lebron James is the Howard Roark of the NBA. Do your thing, sir!

I don't think its a very effective spot. It made me bored, not interested. I don't have any empathy for LeBron after it, but perhaps I'm not supposed to. I almost feel like this is LeBron's way of saying "get off my back!" I agree, we should get off his back, but it doesn't work when he's telling me to. I may cut him some slack but that commercial isn't growing his brand any.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

highly ineffective. It's shocking to me that this marketing company keeps getting hailed as "brilliant" for these long, overwrought, preachy, and entirely-irrelevant-to-the-product ads.

As bad as the marketing is for Bron, his shoes are even worse. Every signature model of his looks like a pair of moon boots. They are hideous. I was also wondering if Nike was going to change their Bron logo with the LB-23 thing, but apparently not.

And here's the other thing: "Should I be what you want me to be?" What's up with that? They imply that bball fans have set unrealistic expectations. But he and his agents are the ones who hyped him as god's gift to basketball and the second coming of MJ. It should hardly be surprising if the fans are underwhelmed by the failure to deliver. A more probing question might be "Why aren't you what you thought you could be?" I imagine that's a question he doesn't want to answer.

"should I not listen to my friends? They're my friends"

My response: listen to your friends all you want. But when it comes to making business, marketing, and financial decisions, listen to people that are trained in business, marketing, and finance.

The commercial is just more self important lebron. As babes said, who cares?

                        This guy is desperate.

yeah, but I'm a high count poster of the whole board. You inevitably end up posting about Lebron James, Taylor Swift, Tripletdaddy, and any number of other overhyped-but-underwhelming celebrities.
