Athletic Propulsion Labs Shoe Banned by NBA

The NBA banned this shoe today because apparently it works. They claim 3.5-4" increased vertical leap. It's the first shoe banned by the NBA for unfair competitive advantage.

The company is founded by the Goldston twins who played ball at USC. Their dad is a long time player in the shoe biz as a former chief marketing officer for Reebok and working with LA Gear and Converse. Pretty interesting.

Traffic keeps bogging their site down:

Shop APL running and basketball shoes, athletic apparel and workout accessories for men and women.

Here's an article about them from Slam Magazine:

    http://www.slamonline.com/online/kic...labs-founders/

In HS I would have dropped $300 for a 3.5-4" increase to my vertical.

They should get Xbox to distribute those shoes. :

The increased vert would be sweet, though. Guys like Stockton would be dunking all over suckas.

So, if you are like me, and your vertical is only about 4 inches to begin with, this should double it?

Wow-- I'm surprised this shoe wasn't also banned in its day. Apparently the watchdogs are super vigilant now.

In the strictest sense of the word, suckas would not own them. Hence, they are suckas. Once they purchase them, they become adopted into the house of playas and ballas. Note I did NOT indicate that Stockton would be dunking all over playas and ballas because, as I am sure you would agree, that would be far-fetched.

Related, in the Slam Mag interview, the Goldston twins claim they're the reason the LA Lights were on placed on the side of the shoe for kids instead of in behind. Their dad brought home some shoes to demo and they were running around with them asking each other if they could see their lights. But the lights were on the rear and you couldn't see him so they told their dad to move them to the sides.

Man I remember when everybody wore the LA Gear Street Hikers. Every girl had to have those. And a few suspect guys.

I've done Air Alert twice. Minimal, but noticeable results each time. I've read though that volleyball players see the least amount of results with the program.

If anyone wants a very difficult (read harder than P90X plyometrics) plyo workout get Air Alert.
