  • With Tulowitzki and Gonzales

I think the Rockies have two of the five best players in the league. I would not be shocked to see a WS victory in Denver this year.

    Would love to see it.

One minor problem, Ubaldo can not pitch every night. Who do you throw in a 7 game series?

Ubaldo is nice. But then you struggle with Chacin, De La Rosa, and now with Cook out I just do not see the pitching to win a World Series.

La Rosa has 2.45 ERA and Chacin has 2.31 ERA the last 30 days. With the NL winning the All Star game you've got four games at Coors where the Rockies play great.

This may sound like sour grapes, but I wouldn't put Gonzalez as a top 5 player because you live in constant fear that he is going to regress.

Fangraphs did a nice article on him.

His poor plate discipline and high BABIP make me skeptical of him. Of course, I would definitely love to have him back on the A's. I just don't think he is a top 5 player.

Ubaldo isn't as lights out as he was through June. He's been giving up about 3 runs a game for the past month. Still good, but not as dominant as he once was.

Tulowitzki has hit 14 bombs in the last 15 games. Insane.

The Rockies are 1 GB of both the Giants and the Padres. I think SF and Colorado finish tied for first and ATL wins the wild card. MLB no longer uses a coin flip to determine who hosts season ending tiebreaker games (season head-to-head now determines it, which totally makes sense -- WTH were they thinking with a coin flip for all those years?). Colorado is currently 8-7 against SF this year with a three games series left to play against them. If H2H is tied the next TB is divisional winning %, and Colorado has a pretty good cushion in that category (.581 vs. SF's .515), so I predict a TB game in Denver. That will be one awesome game.

              Go Rockies!
