Like the Demigod and Duncan Keith, Toews deserves his own retirement thread.
I wish Toews last season would have been better, but I'm glad he got to come back and leave on his terms.
Kane the only player from the Blackhawks core still playing. Duncan Keith, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Brent Seabrook, and Patrick Sharp all retired now.
2 players already in the Hall of Fame (Keith and Hossa) and Kane and Toews will certainly be first ballot hall of famers.
Looking back on those teams, there was so much amazing talent on the wings (Kane, Sharp, and Hossa), but that team never really had a second line center. I wonder how much more points Kane could have put up if he had a consistent quality 2C to play with. Those teams also were just consistently amazing on the blueline. Keith, Seabrook, and Hjalmarsson were really the core of that team. I miss having a defenseman like Keith that can hit a perfect stretch pass to start the rush.
Sign him to a 1 day contract so that he can retire in a Blackhawks sweater.
